One Year On

Greetings,

It has been a year now since the demise of my beloved JS - the original site - and since that time I have not blogged at all.  I found myself diving into my music and gave myself a project - to do 100 covers - my first thought was that this would take me a few months but in the end it took almost exactly a year.

I now feel though that it is time to get back to blogging but I am so out of touch with it.  It still feels so strange, the sense of loss that could have been filled here yet I wasn’t ready and now, well now I don’t know if I can remember how to.

I used to take some pride in the variety of blogs I would post - I wasn’t one that harped on about what I had been doing that day - mine were rants or observations or just ramblings for the main part and they were my release.

Can I even get that back though?  The desire to write almost every day burns still and I find myself using the old pen and pads - when I am not playing the guitar or keyboard; which is still my primary source of creative outlet these days.

I still can’t get used to this JS format though.

Change though eh - a word we heard a lot in ‘09 - and what change did we get?  From Obama, fuck all - more of the same.  I wanted to believe he would bring change but he is as much of a corporate bitch as all that came before him and what is worse is that the american attitude I despise is flowing into the politics of all other contries.

Here in Australia politics is a fucking sham.  The few Aussies who actually care about it are usually dumb ass fucks and the media here is like a bad dream.  The newspapers are not worthy of wiping the shit from my arse and when it comes to TV - I choose the safe option and keep mine turned off.  Channels 7, 9 & 10 - you have to be a brain dead moron to watch these.  News wise you get zip - unless you are into car accidents and vacuous political sound bites from dead beat idiot politicians.

Many Aussies will tell me - oh but what about SBS & ABC - I have to give them some credit; for starters only SBS & ABC are aware that the world doesn’t end at Australia’s shoreline.  You could be forgiven for thinking this if you watch the other channels, shit even when a disaster happens Channels 7, 9 & 10 would report it as follows;

“In todays terrible accident some 49 people died, 3 Australians - who gives a fuck about the others”

OK, perhaps not quite like that but not far from it!

Your average Aussie though doesn’t even notice or at least if they do they don’t give a rats fuck about it.  Ignorance is indeed bliss.  Often those I speak to who know nothing of the outside world tell me that it is because Australia is so far away - as if the internet is also bound to Aussie only content.  I just smile at such types, no point in going on further.

Anyway, yes - in testing I can see that if I start to type I can still rant on so I will make 2010 my year of returning - although tis odd as now I have no readers and all the community and the friends I had are elsewhere and gone.

Such is life though eh - onwards and downwards!

Peace be the Keeper

    I saw you on my old JS list I was going through and thought about you… and now here you are again!

    Hardly any of the original JS’ers are here… this site just doesn’t do it for us… it has the name and that is it. Most of us are now spread over the cyber world… blogspot, wordpress, facebook (puke) and….. keepconnectedlive.com, KCL for short. It is being run by a former JS’er and there are a lot of Js’ers there. Take a peek over there! It’s still not JS, but it’s a LOT better then this place!

    I also miss my old journal space *daydreaming about the 7 years of js i had, oh poor dodgedieselgirl. It took me a while to come back. This site is not compatible with my pc at work, so it is all the more frustrating. But… any who, we are here now, we are a family again, welcome back!
